Faith is the means by which believers come to God and put their trust in Him for salvation.  God provides believers with the faith needed to believe in Him: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9).  The entire Christian life is lived out on the foundation of faith (Romans 1:17; Galatians 2:20).
